STARFLEET is a peaceful organization, but sometime it is pushed in to war and with war there will be wounded.
STARFLEET has some of the best hospital ships and hospitals known. But to get the wounded to proper medical care you have to have a MEDIVAC unit. MEDIVAC crews are units or groups highly trained medical care. The faster you can get wounded to a hospital ship or hospital the better chances the wounded have to live.
The wounded are beamed out with a transporter.
But many times transporters can not be used because the area is to hot or dangerous for an un-armed hospital ship, so they need to be moved out by small MEDIVAC craft which can carry at maximum of 10 wounded and that is with two medics and two crew members.
STARFLEET realized this problem during the dominion war and began a new program of turning smaller Starships in to.
The crew of the decommissioned USS Braveheart was transferred to the newly constructed and modified Intrepid class starship which was named USS Bethel NCC-74663 the largest MEDIVAC ship in the Fleet and then assigned a STARFLEET Marines Medic unit the 300th MEDIVAC Unit.

We are a part the STARFLEET Marine Corps's Third Brigade. Which is affiliated with STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc., We are assigned to Region 3. Which encompasses all of the states of Texas and Louisiana. We are dedicated to uniting the fans of Star Trek and other Sci-Fi.
Community service and charity fund raising are a large part of what makes STARFLEET more than just a group of people who like Star Trek.
STARFLEET, STARFLEET Marine Corps, Region 3 and the 300th MSG are not connected with Paramount, VIACOM, or Star Trek: The Official Fan Club.
What does the 300th do?
We do charity and fund raisers for the charity. The main charity of this unit is the Battleship TEXAS is the last dreadnought in existence in the world.
For several years we have worked at security at many convention like Sci-Fi Expo & Toy Show Convention, Volcon, Creation and many others.
We have worked at locations like Ft. Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, Plano, Dallas, Austin and Houston, Texas. Even Oklahoma and Louisiana.
We have worked with stars like: Adam West, Frank Gorshin, Don Bies, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, Walter Koenig,Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, Majel Barrett, Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, John de Lancie, Rene Auberjonois, Colm Meaney. Nana Visitor, Chase Masterson. Roxann Dawson, Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo, Jeri Ryan and this is just the Star Trek guests.
There are also the Star Wars guests and many, many more will over one hundred.
